Drontal for Dogs are deworming tablets developed to safely and effectively remove common intestinal worms from dogs. Each oral tablet can be taken once every 12 weeks and can easily be administered by mixing it into your dog’s food.
These dewormers are vet-recommended solutions and are highly suitable for dogs on a raw diet.

Instructions
Tablets can be given orally or crumbled and mixed with a small amount of food.
Dosage: 1 tablet per 10kg body weight
Puppies and Small Dogs
2-5 kg bodyweight = 1/2 tablet
6-10 kg bodyweight = 1 tablet
Medium Dogs
11-15 kg bodyweight = 1 1/2 tablets
16-20 kg bodyweight = 2 tablets
21-25 kg bodyweight = 2 1/2 tablets
26-30 kg bodyweight = 3 tablets
Large Dogs
31-35 kg bodyweight = 3 1/2 tablets
36-40 kg bodyweight = 4 tablets
Treatment Recommendation:
Puppies: Treat at 2,4,8 and 12 weeks of age; then monthly until 6 months of age
Dogs above 6 months of age: Treat 3 monthly
The advice of a veterinarian should be sought regarding the need for and frequency of repeat treatment.
Drontal is used to help help treat a variety of intestinal worms, including tapeworms, hookworms and large roundworms. The tablets can easily be crumbled and mixed into your cat’s favorite food for easy administration.
Worms controlled include:
Ascarids: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina (adult and late immature forms).
Hookworms: Uncinaria stenicephala, Ancylostoma canium (adults).
Whipworms: Trichuris vulpis (adults).
Tapeworms: Echinococcus species, Taenia species, Dipylidium species (adult and immature forms).
Giardia: Control shedding of cysts.
How quickly does Drontal work?
Drontal starts working as soon as it is ingested. Worms, if present, may or may not appear in the droppings for up to 48 hours after treatment.
Possible Side Effects
May include salivation, vomiting, diarrhea, incoordination, and loss of appetite may be observed. Other side effects are possible. Please contact your veterinarian immediately if your pet is acting sick after receiving this medication.
Drug & Food Interactions
Always tell your veterinarian about any medications or supplements your pet is taking prior to giving this medication. Do not give Drontal if your pet is already receiving another deworming medication unless directed to by your veterinarian.

Active Ingredients
22.7 mg Praziquantel, 22.7 mg Pyrantel base as Pyrantel Pamoate and 113.4 mg Febantel.

Do not use after expiry date.
Do not give Drontal to puppies under 3 weeks or 2 pounds. Certain intestinal parasites can be spread from animals to humans so it is important to consult with your veterinarian about measures you can take in order to prevent human infection and reinfection of your pet.
Do not exceed recommended dose when treating pregnant dogs.
Consult a Veterinary Surgeon before treating pregnant dogs for roundworms.
Do not use simultaneously with piperazine compounds.
Tapeworm infection is certain to re-occur unless control of intermediate hosts such as fleas, mice etc is undertaken.
In the interests of good hygiene, persons administering the tablets directly to a dog, or by adding them to the dog’s food, should wash their hands afterwards.
